Our proudest moment of the past year:
The achievement that we are proudest of this year has been successfully implementing two local and two international projects.

Biggest challenge from the past year:
The biggest challenge our team faced was implementing two international businesses: Sankofa and Harvest Hub. We overcame the challenges of implementing both by having strong international project partners and high levels of communication.

Team described in one word:

Get to Know Us:

Annie is an English major who anticipates graduating June 2020. She has been involved with Enactus for one year, and she is the President of her team. Annie’s biggest success was joining the presentation team. She says, “I am naturally quite an anxious person, and so to put myself forward for something as daunting as presenting in front of so many people was terrifying!”

More about Annie:

  • What I’m reading:  “Cat’s Eye” by Margaret Atwood, “Women in Love” by D.H. Lawrence and “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod
  • Theme song: “Good as Hell” by Lizzo
  • Who inspires me: Greta Thunburg
  • Enactus in one word: Inspiring
  • Best Enactus moment: My favorite moment was on a Friday afternoon at the Foodprint shop helping with one of our big food deliveries.
  • In five years, I will be… “…just as busy as I am now, doing something that I love, whatever that may be.”

Zainub is an Industrial Economics student from London. She has been involved with Enactus for one year, and serves as the team’s Corporate Relations Executive (CRE). A typical day for a CRE begins with checking emails, hearing back from Business Advisors, scheduling new opportunities for them to get involved and connecting team members to those advisors who can provide valuable nuggets of knowledge.

More about Zainub:

  • What I’m reading: “How to Build a Billion Dollar App” by George Berkowski
  • Theme song: “Shot at the Night “ by The Killers
  • Who inspires me: My mother. It may be a common answer, but there are many challenges she has overcome, many successes she’s had, and she raised me with confidence in myself to be someone who can make a difference.
  • Enactus in one word: Empowering
  • Best Enactus moment: Hopefully this isn’t too predictable, but it was winning Nationals. I burst out in tears, genuinely not expecting it at all. Then we had to walk up and take pictures, no time for crying!
  • In five years, I will be… “…working hard! Who knows, I’ll either be super corporate or a game developer, but either way, I’d like to be happy and exploring new countries and careers.”
