Our proudest moment of the past year:
When we had to complete our greenhouse at Mkhizwane, our team was working against the clock. Every member was involved, in different groupings, seemingly doing their own thing, yet working towards a similar larger goal. When it was complete, we stood back and could not believe how it all came together. It left us all with great pride of our work. It is one moment of team spirit that we will never forget.
Biggest challenge from the past year:
Retaining the status of Enactus South Africa National Champion while implementing new innovations to improve the impact of our project.
Team described in one word:
Resilient
Mthunzi is currently serving as the Vice-President of Enactus Durban University of Technology. Mthunzi is a third-year student enrolled for a Diploma in Financial Accounting. “I joined Enactus because of my passion for entrepreneurship and community engagement. I disliked the global narrative about Africa, and as a result, I fell in love with Enactus. It was the only organization that gave a different perspective about Africa as the land of opportunity. This inspired me to join and participate in the program.”

Three years after joining Enactus, Bafana currently serves as the project manager for the Agribusiness Project, the flagship project of Enactus DUT. “I always wanted to restart the small business I had back in high school but struggled with where to start. Enactus has provided me with a good learning platform, through which I have gained insights on how to start and grow a viable enterprise. A part of my Enactus experience that really inspired me was discovering new ways to solve plastic pollution as it has always been part of my vision.”
