Our proudest moment of the past year:
Apart from winning this year, the team also won Enactus Philippines National Finals in 2017 as the first runner-up… on top of winning these trophies, the moment that makes us truly proud is when we hear the team’s beneficiaries recount and narrate their own stories of success in transforming from impoverished financially, socially and economically to becoming empowered members of their community which are all impossible without the collaboration of the team.”
Biggest challenge from the past year:
“Balancing our academic standing while we're doing our commitment in line with monthly monitoring, because most of us are student leaders at our university.”
Team described in one word:
Inspiration.
As a freshman, Mary became an officer on her university’s Enactus team. An elementary education major scheduled to graduate in April 2020, she now serves as a team presenter. Three years later, Mary says her greatest achievement through Enactus is getting to witness how her team uplifts the lives of their beneficiaries and is able to help their communities. “Every day is always a challenging yet fulfilling day with my one big happy family.” Through Enactus, Mary has learned how to balance her academics and her commitment to her team. At Enactus World Cup, she is looking forward to sharing with the world her unique Filipino culture.

Involved in Enactus for three years, Rusel serves as Vice President and a presenter on his team. “I am a person who has a passion for making a difference,” says Rusel. ”I’m a student leader for my university and a servant to my community that helps marginalized people uplift their lives.” He is looking forward to traveling out of the Philippines for the first time and getting to experience every culture at Enactus World Cup this year with his team. Rusel is a secondary education major in English who plans to graduate in April 2019.
