U.S. Expo gives young leaders an inside look at 20+ years of the Edelman Trust Barometer
Richard Edelman, CEO of leading global communications firm Edelman, will join the virtual Partner Summit Series at the Enactus United States National Exposition on April 14, 2021, to discuss the urgent risks and opportunities surrounding trust in society today and what it means for purpose-driven entrepreneurs.
In a session called “Who Can You Trust?”, Richard will draw on more than 20 years of the Edelman Trust Barometer to examine the critical role of trust as organizations and businesses accelerate their local and global impact and advance the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Edelman Trust data shows that while trust in governments suffered the largest decrease among studied institutions in the past year, businesses and NGOs have an incredible opportunity to lead right now. At the same time, young people are pushing them to be more mission-driven than ever before. As entrepreneurs and employees, increasingly representing a workforce majority, and as consumers, young changemakers are putting their trust and influence behind brands that are accountable to more than the bottom line.
This rare moment gives Enactus NextGen Leaders an opportunity that generations before them have not had. Now is the time to accelerate world-changing entrepreneurialism. . As part of that effort, Enactus’ NextGen Leaders can help fill the trust void through purposeful and collective action to solve society’s problems.
“We are in an era of information bankruptcy, and the demand for ethical, actionable and creative leadership has never been so acute.” said Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman. “I have immense confidence in the innovative thinking young people are bringing to the table, and I’m humbled by this opportunity to help empower emerging leaders.”
Frank Cooper III, Senior Managing Director & Global Chief Marketing Officer at BlackRock, and Jim Jackson, Chief Marketing Officer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, will also join the dialogue hosted by Rachael Jarosh, President and CEO at Enactus.
“Young people are challenging the status quo,” said Frank Cooper III, CMO of BlackRock, “and motivated leaders who have the ability to harness their purpose and build trust will be on the fast track to changing the world.”
“Without trust, we can’t accomplish anything,” said Jim Jackson, CMO of Hewlett Packard Enterprises. “I look forward to joining this discussion and helping upcoming leaders recognize the value of this social currency in everything they do.”
“We are honored to welcome these business leaders to this year’s Enactus U.S. Online Expo,” said Rachael Jarosh, CEO of Enactus. “Amid the tumult of the past year, Enactus has had one of its most impactful years to date, proving that NextGen Leaders are already seen as changemakers in their communities, and Edelman’s Trust data signals the immense potential they have to continue building trust that can be used as a catalyst for action.”passionate about driving real change no matter the circumstances. I believe their ability to build trust among stakeholders is essential to their ongoing success, and I know our community will gain invaluable insights from this conversation among business pioneers.”
“Who Can You Trust?: 20+ Years of the Edelman Trust Barometer for Present and NextGen Leaders,” will kick off on April 14 at 3 p.m. EST as part of the Enactus US Expo, running April 12-16, 2021.
