Enactus Global Privacy Policy

Enactus Global is a U.S. 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit entity. Enactus Global includes network affiliates located in 33 countries. Each network affiliate (i.e. Enactus France, Enactus Kenya, etc.) may have additional policies under these regulations. Enactus Global cares about your privacy. For this reason, we collect and use personal data only as it might be needed in keeping with Enactus’ purpose to encourage entrepreneurial activities in university students in connection with business leaders and enriching our program for our members. Your personal data includes information such as:

  • Name
  • Company/University name
  • Business title
  • Email address
  • Address
  • Telephone numbers
  • Other data collected that could directly or indirectly identify you.

Our Privacy Policy is intended to describe to you how and what data we collect, and how and why we use your personal data. It also describes options we provide for you to access, update or otherwise take control of your personal data that we process.

Collection and use of personal information


Enactus Global collects information so that we can provide the best possible experience when you become a part of the Enactus network. Much of what you likely consider personal data is collected directly from you when you:

  1. Create an account to join the Enactus Global network as a student/faculty/alumni/business executive. (ex: contact information, including email address, company/university name, title, address, phone numbers);
  2. Register to attend an Enactus Global event (email, company/university name, title, address, phone numbers as well as citizenship details for International events);
  3. Complete contact forms or request to utilize other services we offer (ex: email, resume upload);
  4. Participate in surveys or otherwise participate in activities that might require information about you.

This data is used solely by Enactus Global and is not shared, traded or sold to third parties with these exceptions:

By creating an account as a faculty member or a student with a team, your information will be viewable to the faculty members & student leaders of your team.

Enactus Global may provide information about our event attendees to Enactus staff as well as exhibitors, sponsors and attendees of that event. This data includes: names, titles, and company/university names. Event attendees may choose, at any time, to be removed from these attendee lists by sending an email to privacypolicy@enactus.org.

Enactus Global may share data with other companies who process data on behalf of Enactus Global or provide other services (i.e. email service providers, data collection tools, data processors, learning management systems) as well as services with regards to our website (i.e. payment processors, website hosting companies) to fulfill our mission. Such companies will only receive information necessary to provide the respective services and will be bound by confidentiality agreements limiting the use of such information and contractual obligations requiring those companies to respect your privacy rights and the security of your personal information.

Our Enactus Global websites also collect non-personal data using server-based “session variables,” which we use to ensure important site functionality, including the recognition of logged-in users. Our websites also uses a single “cookie” (a small file stored by your browser on your hard drive) to collect non-personal data.

Our webserver also records IP addresses (the number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet) from all visitors to our site. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends and to track user movement, as well as to gather broad demographic information—for continually improving our website and delivering personalized, custom content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information and their collection is standard procedure in most webserver environments.

Where you register or login using a third-party single user sign-in we may also recognize you as the same user across any different devices you use and personalize your user experience across other Enactus sites you visit.

Transfer of personal data abroad

If you access an Enactus Global website or web form from a country other than the country where our servers are located (United States), your communications with us may result in transferring your personal data across international borders. Also, when you call us, we may provide you with support from one of our global locations outside your country of origin. In these cases, your personal data is handled according to this Enactus Global Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

Enactus Global uses Google Analytics. To provide website visitors with more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Google have developed the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The add-on communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on does not prevent information from being sent to the website itself or to other web analytics services.

Location-based tools

Enactus Global may collect and use the geographical location of your computer or mobile device. This location data is collected automatically and is used to provide you with information regarding services which we believe may be of interest to you based on your geographic location, and to improve our location-based products and services.

Social media widgets and applications

Enactus Global web sites may include functionality to enable sharing via third party social media applications, such as the Facebook Like button and Twitter widget. These social media applications may collect and use information regarding your use of Enactus Global web sites. Any personal information that you provide via such social media applications may be collected and used by other members of that social media application and such interactions are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide the application. We do not have control over, or responsibility for, those companies or their use of your information.

In addition, Enactus Global web sites may host blogs, forums, crowd-sourcing and other applications or services (collectively “social media features”). The purpose of social media features is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and content. Any personal information that you provide on any Enactus Global social media feature may be shared with other users of that social media feature (unless otherwise stated at the point of collection), over whom we may have limited or no control.

Our websites contain links to other websites. Please note that when you click on one of these links you are entering another website, for which Enactus Global is not responsible.

Communications

Enactus Global may use your personal information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other materials that maybe of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send or by contacting us at privacypolicy@enactus.org.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information from children under the age of 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under age 16 without parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Photography and Videography

While attending an Enactus Global event you may be filmed, photographed or recorded. We, including our agents, assignees, employees, affiliated organizations, and partners worldwide, may use these films, images, or recordings for marketing purposes.

How you can access or delete your data


Access to your personal information

You can review your personal information by logging into the secured area of our site or by sending an email to privacypolicy@enactus.org. Enactus Global stores and maintains your data for the duration of your relationship with Enactus Global.

Removal of your personal information

You may request that your personal data be deleted. It may take up to 30 days for your data to be processed in deletion. You have the following options to do this:

By using Enactus Global websites, you agree to our privacy policy as stated above. Note that this policy may be revised periodically without notice. If you have concerns about how your data is being collected and used, please review this policy prior to submitting any personal information. Donor Privacy Policy


Enactus Global respects the privacy of its donors and will not share or sell a donor’s personal information with anyone else, or send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.
