Warsaw, Poland – For the eleventh non-consecutive time, the University of Gdansk Enactus team has claimed the title of Enactus Poland National Competition champion.

The team was named champion at the Kamienica Theatre in Warsaw by a panel of 50 judges and approximately 150 observers. Before the final results were announced, students presented judges with Enactus pins as a welcome to the network.

Last year the 50-member Gdnask University team contributed more than 5,000 volunteer hours to several community outreach projects such as an online market aimed at helping farmers direct sell to consumers, an effort that is working with former inmates to provide them skills to successfully integrate back into society and a recycling project that converts plastic bottles into materials for quilts that are later donated to homeless shelters in the region.

Special guests at this year’s event included Stephen D. Mull, U.S. Ambassador in Warsaw, and Mark Wenig, Cultural Attache from the U.S. Embassy.

Also helping to make the event a success were the following event sponsors: AIG, Cargill Poland, Credit Agricole, PwC and Kamienica Theatre.
