Representing the United Kingdom and Ireland at Enactus World Cup 2024

Durham University

Established: 2005

Student members: 210

Proudest moment from 2024: The proudest moment, specifically for the TTZ team, was visiting Nairobi and seeing the site; for many, it was the kiosk and the progress that had been made.

Biggest challenge faced in the past year: Promoting awareness about Enactus to Durham, but we overcame it by hosting events for all members and attending different fairs.

One word description: Entrepreneurial.

Featured Project: Taka Taka Zero

At Taka Taka Zero, we transform non-recyclable waste into sustainable energy, offering solutions for low-income communities. Understanding the potential of local youth to enact change, we provide them with employment as waste managers. Our approach involves collecting local waste and incinerating it using the environmentally friendly Community Cooker technology. This process not only cleans up communities by eliminating waste but also generates heat for cooking and boiling water. The resulting food products are sold locally, creating economic opportunities and supporting our workforce. We see waste as a renewable resource that prompts a valuable cycle of cleaning, employing, and sustaining communities.
