Proudest moment from 2024: When we registered our team’s startup as an organization called “Save the Sicklers” to help people with sickle cell disease manage their condition and managed to reach many people suffering from the condition.

Biggest challenge faced in the past year: We faced a challenge in our community outreach which was a challenge of acceptance of the solution we were providing as the disease we are trying to solve, sickle cell disease, is stigmatized in the region. We solved this by providing more educational sessions.

One word description: Visionaries.

Featured Project: Save the Sicklers ThermoSoothe

Save the Sicklers “ThermoSoothe” is a project that aims to help patients with sickle cell disease live better lives. This initiative employs the use of an emergency triage kit for sickle cell patients that warns them when a sickle cell crisis is about to happen. It has a thermal massage pain relief mechanism that is useful when the crisis begins and the patient is not near a hospital. It is the first kit of its kind and it aids in sickle cell crisis prediction through tracking a series of parameters collected from multiple patients and provides relief in the case of an emergency.
