Proudest moment from 2024: When we managed to finish building the COFFÍ project.
Biggest challenge faced in the past year: Last year we went through one of the most difficult periods in our history. We were divided between two projects in the implementation phase and two others in development, but with only nine members of the team, the pressure became unbearable. We were on the verge of collapse and the team almost fell apart. It was then that we sought the guidance of our mentor teacher and had moments of distraction with the members to create connection and calm that helped us to continue.
One word description: Dedicated.
Featured Project: COFFÍ
The COFFÍ project creates a beverage from açaí pits, transforming what was once considered waste into a valuable product. The pits undergo a detailed processing sequence to produce a drink with a flavor and aroma akin to traditional coffee. Previously, these pits were discarded improperly, causing environmental issues in the Km 1700 community. By repurposing this byproduct, COFFÍ not only provides a sustainable solution to waste management but also offers a new economic opportunity for the community. This innovative approach highlights the potential of turning waste into a beneficial product, addressing both environmental and economic challenges.
