Proudest moment from 2024: The success of our “Termobee” project. This initiative was designed to address a critical environmental issue: the decline in bee populations, which are essential for pollination and biodiversity. The Termobee project focused on developing a sustainable solution to support bee colonies by improving their living conditions. We recognized that one of the main challenges faced by bees was the lack of appropriate habitats and the impacts of extreme weather conditions. To tackle this, our team created innovative, temperature-regulating hives that help maintain a stable environment for the bees, even in fluctuating weather.

Biggest challenge faced in the past year: Navigating the complexities of scaling up our “Termobee” project while managing limited resources and tight timelines. As our initiative gained momentum, we encountered several hurdles that tested our ability to adapt and innovate.

Initially, our project was designed on a relatively small scale, and our initial prototypes were successful. However, as we sought to expand the deployment of the temperature-regulating hives to multiple locations, we faced logistical challenges, including securing sufficient materials, coordinating with various stakeholders, and maintaining consistent quality across all units.

One significant issue was sourcing the specialized insulating materials needed for the hives. These materials were more expensive and harder to obtain in large quantities than anticipated. Additionally, coordinating the distribution and installation of the hives across different regions required meticulous planning and execution.

One word description: Innovative.
