Premier Event Showcases Top Social Innovation Projects Designed by University Students from 32 Countries

Enactus World Cup 2019 showcases and celebrates the collective impact created by its global network of student, business and academic leaders across industries and geographies. The signature event for Enactus, a global non-profit with more than 72,000 student members, runs from 16-18 September and features leading social innovation projects developed by Enactus student teams from 1,730 university campuses.

During the event, Enactus National Champion teams present their social entrepreneurship projects to panels of judges including notable global business leaders. Champions of the World Water Race, empowered by Enactus, will be named on 17 September and will be awarded up to $120,000 USD in funding to support project scaling. The Enactus World Champion team will receive the Ford Better World Award on 18 September; the prize money is awarded to the National Champion and second, third and fourth place teams and their Enactus country operations for a total of $90,000USD in funds to scale their projects and enterprises.

In addition to competition, Enactus World Cup features speakers and interactive learning sessions with leading businesses to address corporate sustainability, citizenship and innovation initiatives as well as showcase the full force of Enactus projects.

Leading the slate of speakers who will address attendees at Enactus World Cup is Thomas Debass, Managing Director for Office of Global Partnerships, U.S. Department of State, and William Kennedy, Senior Programme Officer for UN Office for Partnerships. In addition, Enactus is honored to welcome distinguished business leaders including:

  • Lord Michael Hastings, Ambassador for KPMG International
  • Remy Swaab, Executive Director of World Trade Center Panama, representing World Trade Centers Foundation Association

Enactus alumni who are now leading change and innovation within leading companies and others who have launched social enterprises will also be featured throughout the event. The Action Accelerator will kick off with a panel of speakers from LinkedIn, Google and Koodoo Global.

Enactus World Cup attendees will also participate in NextGen Breakout Sessions, which are tailored to students, business leaders, faculty and Enactus alumni. The student series will be delivered by business leaders from KPMG LLP, Unilever, The Coca-Cola Company, Ford Motor Company, Intuit Inc., LinkedIn and Robert Half.
