Paris, France – The opening of this year’s Enactus France National Competition commemorated the tenth anniversary of the program’s inception.
To celebrate the milestone, the opening of the competition included videos and special presentations, as well as recognition of the many companies and donors who have supported the program over the last decade. Among those marking this occasion was Alvin Rohrs, Enactus President and CEO, and Doug McMillon, Chairman of the Enactus Board of Directors and President and CEO of Wal-Mart International.
The 2013 National Competition was the University of Nantes, a team who volunteered more than 6,000 hours to community outreach projects that impacted more than 300 people. One of their standout projects was Entr’Apprendre, an effort that worked with seniors to create their own businesses. Other projects included the development of an employment vacancy website and financial management training for students.
Several teams walked away with the Enactus Spirit trophy, an award for the teams that best met the philosophy and spirit Enactus:
- School of Industrial Biology (EBI)
- Grenoble Ecole de Management
- Polytech Paris-UPMC
- ECE INSEEC
Also special to this year’s competition was a project forum that allowed Enactus teams to use exhibit presentations to showcase their efforts entirely in English.
Helping to make the event a success were event sponsors, KPMG, AIG, Disneyland Paris, Adecco Foundation, GDF SUEZ Foundation, VINCI Autoroutes Foundation for responsible driving, GDF SUEZ, HSBC, PepsiCo, Sodexo and SUEZ Environment.
