The Ford Innovation Challenge

is an opportunity for one Enactus United Kingdom team to take an innovative and results-driven project to scale.

Scale = to grow or expand in a proportional way, significantly increasing positive impact.

The selected team will receive a £25,000 USD grant to amplify their impact by scaling a successful project that has achieved measurable improvement of people’s livelihoods.

Together, Ford Motor Company Fund and Enactus will go further to create sustainable solutions that change more lives and communities.

Call for Entries

Deadline: 7 August 2017 by 23:59 GMT

Submit your online entry through the link below no later than 7 August 2017 23:59 GMT. All entrants must agree to the terms and conditions included in the entry form. The online entry will include:

  • Your project proposal
  • An upload of a Project Report Form for the project your team proposes to take to scale (download the Project Report Form here)
  • An upload of a letter of recommendation and support from an institutional administrator

Project Requirements & Judging Criteria

In 2017 the Enactus World Cup is being held in London, UK. To commemorate this Ford is introducing a special, one time, Ford Innovation Challenge where one Enactus team in the UK has the chance to win a £25,000 grant to enable them to scale up and go further with an innovative and results-driven project. The winner will be announced Tuesday, 26 September during a reception hosted at World Cup that all finalists will be invited to attend. The Challenge is open to all enrolled Enactus UK teams with completed UK based projects that can be successfully scaled before October 2018. Each entry will be evaluated on the following criteria (each worth 10 points):

  • How well does the project apply innovation and entrepreneurial action towards "Building Sustainable Communities"?
  • How impactful was the completed project, based on measurable outputs and outcomes?
  • How well did the team articulate their needs assessment and explain why the project should be taken to scale?
  • How effective is the team’s strategy to take the project to scale?
  • How effective is the team's plan to collaborate with a community-based partner to execute the project?
  • Considering the project timeline, funding and project goals, how feasible is the scaled project?
  • How effectively does the scaled project empower people to improve their livelihoods?
  • What is the degree of impact?
  • How well does the project contribute towards physical, social or economic mobility?
  • How sustainable is the scaled project?

PROGRESS UPDATES
The selected team will provide updates on the progress of their scaled project as scheduled. Updates may take place via conference call or campus visit. The team will also submit a written progress report in January 2018, April 2018 and July 2018.
30 November 2017 2018 FINAL IMPACT REPORT DEADLINE
This project report will include, but is not limited to: a detailed project summary, measurable outputs/outcomes achieved, testimonials, media, budget, photos/videos, etc.
