SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Aug. 14, 2017 — Enactus has named Kraig M. Butrum, a leader in development and donor relations responsible for cultivating seven-figure gifts on behalf of national, international and nonprofit organizations, as its chief development officer. His appointment is effective Aug. 14, 2017.
I am excited to welcome Kraig to Enactus,” said Rachael A. Jarosh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Enactus. “As a seasoned development professional, he brings to Enactus a full complement of experience in enhancing and enlarging our circle of business leaders, partners and supporters.”
“Kraig’s international fundraising experience, his depth of knowledge in what motivates others to give and his enthusiasm for the Enactus mission inspired all of us,” said Kees Kruythoff, President of Unilever North America and Enactus board chair. “On behalf of the entire board, I welcome Kraig and look forward to working with him.”
With more than 25 years of senior management experience, Butrum has guided corporate giving, fundraising, institutional branding and donor relations at national and international organizations. As Vice President of Development for Conservation International, he directed a five-year, $635 million development campaign.
“I am inspired by the next generation of students who accept the challenges of today as opportunities for tomorrow.” Butrum said. “Enactus is incredibly unique in that it equips those young leaders to fast-track solutions around the world and helps ground their knowledge of sound business principles through hands-on learning.”
As the Chief Development Officer, Butrum will work closely with Enactus leadership, staff and the Board of Directors to craft new development strategies which strengthen existing partner relationships and expand the Enactus partner base. He also will design and implement a comprehensive development program for Enactus as well as provide leadership, strategy and management to contribute to the organization’s long-term health. He replaces Donna Patterson, who retired from Enactus in April 2017.
Founded in 1975, Enactus is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. The organization creates a platform for teams of outstanding university students to create and launch community-development projects.
