Sao Paulo, Brazil – For the third time in Enactus Brazil National Competition history the Univeristy Center of Para (CESUPA) has claimed the National Champion title. The team was named the Enactus Brazil 2013 National Champion during the two-day event held at the Tivoli Morafej Hotel in Sao Paulo.
The CESUPA team was selected from among 15 competing teams. Their community outreach efforts included helping establish an association of cocoa farmers to assist 16 women in the creation of 100 percent organic cocoa powder.
Other highlights of this year’s event included a Career Fair that featured Walmart, Cargill, Microsoft, KPMG, Rich Products Corporation and Unilever. Students also had the opportunity to participate in panel dicussions that ranged from women’s economic empowerment and agribusiness to health and nutrition and technology.
Also adding to the competition experience was best-practice sharing activities that involved both students and faculty advisors who discussed how to improve team projects and opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders.
Keynote speaker at the event included Roberto Rodrigues, former minister of agriculture and coordinator of the Getulio Vargas Foundation Agribusiness Center, and special guest Rai de Oliveria, former soccer player and president of the Gol de Letra Foundation.
