Proudest moment from 2024: How our project EnAccess Maps was able to connect with more mobility aid users. We were able to see how excited they were about finally having something that addresses the issues they’ve had to face their whole lives. Their willingness and eagerness to be involved and help has been invaluable to EnAccess Map’s progress.

Biggest challenge faced in the past year: A little over a year ago, we had our lowest retention rate within our committee. People felt like they weren’t making impact or enjoying their time within the club, so as our new executives came in halfway through 2023, we set out with a goal to fundamentally change the experience and perception of the club. We started with small initiatives such as widespread leadership inductions and brainstorming sessions to facilitate discussions and challenge their perceptions of leadership while further integrating their feedback on their past experiences within the club. We supplemented this with more social activities throughout the committee, to help increase engagement and togetherness with the end goal to cultivate an environment where people can do meaningful work while also enjoying their peers. Through the diligence and buy-in of all the leaders, we were able to re-steer the direction, and achieve the highest retention rates in more than 5 years, with record attendances at our social events to further highlight the genuine enjoyment and value that Enactus can create as a community.

One word description: Passion.
