“In October, it will be 34 years that I have had the honor and privilege of being the CEO of Enactus. I believe the time is right for another person to have this honor and privilege. I am proud of the work I have done and the foundation that has been laid, and I am looking forward with excitement to see how a new CEO can build an even larger, more impactful organization”, says Dr. Rohrs.
Enactus is launching a global search for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Board retained Korn Ferry, the leading global search and talent firm, to search for the next CEO with a transition expected this year. Rohrs will continue in a consulting role.
“The Board and the entire network applaud Dr. Rohrs’ leadership, which has grown Enactus from 18 colleges and universities in the United States to over 1,700 universities in 36 countries,” said Kees Kruythoff, Chairman of the Board of Enactus and President, Unilever North America. “Under his 34 years of leadership, 800,000 students have become action leaders and 18,000,000 people have been empowered to live better lives in a more sustainable way. He has helped create a better world for us all,” Kruythoff continued.
“Walmart is very proud of our partnership with Enactus, and we are very honored that over 30 years ago, Sam Walton and Jack Shewmaker accepted Alvin’s invitation to join this great organization”, says Doug McMillon, President & CEO, Walmart Stores, Inc. “We appreciate Dr. Rohrs’ leadership of Enactus for all these years, and we respect his decision to retire. We too are excited about the future of Enactus and believe that Enactus’ best years are still ahead”.
