Collection and use of personal information
We collect information so that we can provide the best possible experience when you become a part of the Enactus network. Much of what you likely consider personal data is collected directly from you when you:
- Create an account to join the Enactus network as a student/faculty/alumni/business executive. (ex: contact information, including email address, company/university name, title, address, phone numbers, birthdate, ethnicity);
- Register to attend an Enactus event (email, company/university name, title, address, phone numbers as well as citizenship details for International events);
- Complete contact forms or request to utilize other services we offer (ex: email, resume upload); or
- Participate in surveys or otherwise participate in activities that might require information about you.
This data is used solely by Enactus and is not shared, traded or sold to third parties with these exceptions:
Enactus may provide information about our event attendees to exhibitors, sponsors and attendees of that event. This data includes: names, titles, and company/university names. Event attendees may choose, at any time, to be removed from these attendee lists by sending an email to email@example.com.
Enactus may share data with other companies who process data on behalf of Enactus or provide other services (i.e. email service providers, data collection tools, data processors, learning management systems) as well as services with regards to our website (i.e. payment processors, website hosting companies) to fulfill our mission. Such companies will only receive information necessary to provide the respective services and will be bound by confidentiality agreements limiting the use of such information and contractual obligations requiring those companies to respect your privacy rights and the security of your personal information.
Our website also collects non-personal data using server-based “session variables,” which we use to ensure important site functionality, including the recognition of logged-in users. Our website also uses a single “cookie” (a small file stored by your browser on your hard drive), to collect non-personal data.
Our webserver also records IP addresses (the number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet) from all visitors to our site. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends and to track user movement, as well as to gather broad demographic information—for continually improving our website and delivering personalized, custom content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information and their collection is standard procedure in most webserver environments.
Where you register or login using a third-party single user sign-in we may also recognize you as the same user across any different devices you use and personalize your user experience across other Enactus sites you visit.
Transfer of personal data abroad
Enactus may collect and use the geographical location of your computer or mobile device. This location data is collected automatically and is used to provide you with information regarding services which we believe may be of interest to you based on your geographic location, and to improve our location-based products and services.

Any personal information that you provide via such social media applications may be collected and used by other members of that social media application and such interactions are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide the application. We do not have control over, or responsibility for, those companies or their use of your information.
In addition, Enactus web sites may host blogs, forums, crowd-sourcing and other applications or services (collectively “social media features”). The purpose of social media features is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and content. Any personal information that you provide on any Enactus social media feature may be shared with other users of that social media feature (unless otherwise stated at the point of collection), over whom we may have limited or no control.
